Vice President, Information Management
Dean Newton is an experienced and successful executive responsible for project management, staffing, contract compliance, value delivery, and client satisfaction on BGS Information Management projects.
Mr. Newton is a leader in delivering innovation supporting information management and business services systems. He has led the design and delivery of system upgrades and improvements that cut across and integrate business systems to deliver enhanced performance at reduced cost. Mr. Newton's innovation and value delivery were recognized in 2012 when he was presented the Executive Leadership Award from DOE's Office of the Chief Information Officer for his contributions. Mr. Newton’s efforts helped DOE EM win the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Federal Electronics Challenge Platinum Award for the first time. He was also recognized by the U.S. Department of Transportation's (USDOT's) Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) for his contributions in supporting its Hazardous Materials Automated Cargo Communication for Efficient & Safe Shipments (HM-ACCESS) program.
Mr. Newton has served as Project Manager for several of DOE’s Office of Packaging and Transportation (OPT) Enterprise business systems, including ATLAS (Automated Transportation Logistics & Analysis System), Automated Transportation Management System (ATMS), and RADCALC Packaging Compliance program. In this role, he provides operational, administrative, monitoring, and technical support for the definition, design, acquisition, implementation, operation, and maintenance of the DOE systems program. Mr. Newton earned a Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering from ITT Technical Institute and holds cybersecurity and information technology (IT)-related certifications.
