In March, Consolidated Nuclear Security, LLC, (CNS) awarded a subcontract to BGS to provide Readiness Support Services at the Y-12 National Security Complex (Y-12). CNS was able to award this contract to BGS in a timely manner by leveraging the contract that BGS has with the National Nuclear Security Administration’s Supply Chain Management Center (SCMC). The contract scope includes readiness support for the installation and startup of a new 9/15 MeV Linear Accelerator and leading three Contractor Readiness Assessments for new technologies (i.e., Electrorefining, Calciner, and Direct Chip Melt) being installed in several Y-12 nuclear facilities for processing highly enriched uranium. BGS was able to include a new employee, Amy Verley, as key personnel on the contract. Amy will be joining BGS in April and is coming to BGS from Hanford, WA, where she supported the Waste Treatment Plant project as a Readiness Assurance Specialist and Senior Field Environmental Facility Support Specialist.
