Duane Schmoker

Chief Growth Officer, BGS/Enveniam

Duane Schmoker is Chief Growth Officer for Enveniam, where he leads enterprise growth strategy, business development, strategic partnerships, client engagement, and major capture initiatives across the government and commercial nuclear energy markets. With more than four decades of leadership experience in nuclear energy, environmental management, nuclear waste management, and complex federal contracting, Duane is recognized for combining executive judgment, technical depth, and disciplined growth strategy to help organizations pursue and win major programs.

Before joining Enveniam, Duane was President and founder of Sterling Engineering and Consulting Group, LLC, known as SE&C, which was acquired by Bernhard Capital Partners in 2022. Under his leadership, SE&C built a strong reputation for strategic planning, technical consulting, proposal development, project management, and high-value client support in the nuclear and energy sectors.

Earlier in his career, Duane held senior executive leadership roles with major national and international engineering and services organizations, including serving as a Senior Vice President responsible for business development, strategic initiatives, and energy and science programs. Over the course of his career, he has directly led or been a significant contributor to more than $110 billion in new business awards and contract extensions.

Duane has authored 13 technical papers in areas including nuclear materials management, spent nuclear fuel storage and transportation, nuclear waste treatment, and related energy technologies. He also holds patents for technologies supporting improved nuclear material monitoring and storage. He is an active member of the American Nuclear Society and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.

Duane brings to Enveniam a proven record of building high-performing teams, shaping winning strategies, developing trusted client relationships, and advancing solutions for some of the nuclear industry’s most complex technical and mission-critical challenges.
