Jared Chambliss
Director, Cyber & IT Critical Infrastructure (CITCI)

Jared Chambliss serves as the Director of Cyber & IT Critical Infrastructure (CITCI) at Boston Government Services (BGS), where he leads the organization’s cybersecurity, information technology, operational technology (OT), critical infrastructure protection, and digital transformation portfolio. In this role, he is responsible for strategic growth, operational execution, client engagement, and the delivery of innovative cyber and technology solutions supporting federal, national security, nuclear, energy, and critical infrastructure clients.
With more than 18 years of experience in cybersecurity, information technology, and industrial control systems within highly regulated federal environments, Jared has built a career helping mission-driven organizations balance security, compliance, operational effectiveness, and technology modernization. His expertise spans cybersecurity governance, risk management, industrial cybersecurity, operational technology security, classified computing, cloud and infrastructure modernization, cyber compliance, digital transformation, and enterprise technology strategy.
Throughout his career, Jared has supported some of the nation’s most complex and sensitive operating environments across the Department of Energy (DOE), National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA), and commercial critical infrastructure sectors. He has led cybersecurity programs supporting nuclear operations, environmental management missions, classified computing environments, and large-scale federal modernization efforts. His experience includes developing cybersecurity strategies, implementing Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes, managing accreditation boundaries, modernizing legacy infrastructure, and integrating cybersecurity into large capital projects and operational environments.
Jared currently provides strategic cybersecurity and technology leadership for major DOE and NNSA initiatives, helping organizations improve operational agility, strengthen cyber resilience, and align technology investments with mission objectives. His work has included cybersecurity program optimization, IT and OT modernization, governance development, architecture reviews, compliance assessments, and the implementation of emerging technologies that enhance workforce effectiveness and organizational performance. He has been particularly focused on helping clients leverage modern technologies—including artificial intelligence and advanced automation—to improve operational efficiency while maintaining the highest standards of security and compliance.
Prior to joining BGS, Jared served in cybersecurity leadership and engineering roles supporting major DOE programs and facilities. As Lead Cyber Security Systems Engineer and Information System Security Officer for Parsons Government Services, he directed cybersecurity operations for large-scale DOE systems supporting both general support systems and industrial control environments. He helped establish cybersecurity programs aligned with DOE and NIST requirements, developed authorization packages for complex operational environments, and successfully supported major readiness reviews and regulatory assessments.
Earlier in his career, Jared spent more than seven years supporting the Mixed Oxide Fuel Fabrication Facility (MFFF/MOX) project at the Savannah River Site. During this time, he led and supported numerous cybersecurity and infrastructure initiatives, including enterprise security architecture, system hardening, vulnerability management, endpoint protection, PKI modernization, identity and access management, incident response capabilities, and large-scale migration efforts. He managed cybersecurity technologies supporting thousands of users while helping secure both traditional business systems and operational environments.
Jared is recognized for his ability to bridge the gap between cybersecurity, information technology, operational technology, compliance requirements, and mission execution. His experience extends across NIST 800-series frameworks, DOE cybersecurity directives, CMMC, industrial cybersecurity, risk management, vulnerability management, security architecture, virtualization, cloud technologies, classified systems, and digital transformation initiatives. He has contributed to cybersecurity conferences, industry working groups, university partnerships, and workforce development initiatives focused on strengthening the next generation of cybersecurity professionals.
Jared holds a Master of Science in Computer Science from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and maintains the ISSAP, ISSEP, ISSMP, CISSP, and CMMC-RP credentials. Throughout his career, he has helped organizations modernize technology environments, improve cyber resilience, reduce operational risk, and enable mission success in some of the nation’s most critical operational environments.
When not doing nerdy things at work, Jared enjoys giving back to his community and investing in the people around him. He serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors for Horse Creek Academy, a public charter school in Aiken, South Carolina, where he helps guide the school’s vision and long-term success. He is also actively involved at Fearless Church in Aiken, serving on the worship team and supporting ministry activities. Most importantly, Jared enjoys spending time with his wife and children and can often be found embracing life’s lighter moments, making people laugh, and generally being goofy with his family.
